This is a DCN chat for couples, heterosexual or same-sex, who are new parents to babies born in 2025.

DCN Chat is a peer support online get-together. The space will be open for you to connect with others and will be facilitated by Sarah, who together with her husband, have one child who was conceived with egg donation.

Join us for a friendly opportunity to meet others at the same stage as you, for a place to grow friendships for you and your family.

This is an online Zoom meetup, therefore, you will be sent a link to join the Zoom chat to the email you supply upon registration.

All participants are asked to turn their video on upon joining. We also ask that if you do have noisy distractions in the background (pets/other people in the room) please mute yourself when not talking. However as this group is for new parents, we understand you are likely to have your baby/ies with you and they are of course welcome!

Yorkshire - Camping trip

Invitation from the event organiser: The Yorkshire branch of the DCN are coming together for a camping w/e for 2 nights – on 20-22 June. June at Masons Campsite, Yorkshire Dales. There are many regular attenders as we’ve been coming together for our camping w/e for many years now but we really welcome new members. It’s a lovely campsite by the river with lots of space so bikes, swimming togs and wetsuits all welcome.

Virtual Conference - London 2025 Revisited

Hear from a stellar range of speakers at our 2025 virtual conference! Our 2025 conference in April had some amazing speakers and now we are offering you the opportunity to enjoy some of the highlights from the comfort of your own home at this, our fifth virtual conference. **Our fantastic programme includes:** [Conference programme](https://dcnetwork.org/app/uploads/2025/06/Virtual-conference-2025-Programme.pdf) * Leo, a donor conceived young adult, and his identifiable donor Paul about meeting and their developing relationship * Sophie, Matt, Ollie & Duncan: Four donor conceived adults sharing their experiences and answering questions * Professor Vasanti Jadva presenting *Perspectives of parents, donors and donor conceived adolescents and adults* * Optional: small discussion groups to allow you to connect and chat with other DC families or prospective parents The event will be hosted by Danny Ruddock, one of our key workshop facilitators and regular DCN event host. It will include a mix of live and recorded presentations, plus our wonderful panelists will be coming back to join live Q&A sessions to answer any questions you may have. **How much does it cost?** The online conference costs only £35 for members. If you’re not a member, we have a special ticket for you which includes 6 months’ of DCN membership and this ticket costs £70. **When and where is the conference?** The conference is on Saturday 21st June and is being held in the afternoon from 2pm to 5.30pm to make it more accessible to those outside the UK and those who have activities on a Saturday morning. It’ll take place online via Zoom but we know that life gets busy, especially in the summer months, so we’re also offering a one-month ‘watch again’ link if you can’t join us on the day. Please note that, to ensure the privacy of attendees, we’ll only be providing recordings of the main speaker sessions and not of any group discussions. **Who is it for?** It’s open to all and is appropriate whether you’re at the early stages of considering donor conception or have children already. It will also be useful for professionals working in a field connected to donor conception who would like to better understand this way of building a family.

North London - DCN Summer Picnic

You are warmly invited to a DCN/North London summer picnic, which will take place on Sunday 22nd June in Golders Hill Park, North London. Although this event is in North London it is open to everyone. We’ll be sitting under our usual tree next to the bandstand. If you come through the North End Way entrance, with the café on your right, head in a direct line towards the bandstand and you will find us. We will put balloons on the tree. Please register if you are interested. This means we can know rough numbers, and can also communicate easily if the weather means plans need to be updated. Bring a picnic and a rug. If you have kids, bring them along and some games to share. Members at any stage of the DC process are invited, especially those who’ve joined recently. Singles, couples, people considering treatment, pregnant or parents with children – all are welcome.

Ethnicity in donor conception

This DCN chat is an opportunity to come together to talk about the issue of ethnicity in donor conception. This may be relevant if you are undertaking treatment with a donor of a different ethnicity, where ethnicity shows up in your donor decision-making process or where your child’s external appearance differs significantly to you (or you and your partner). This DCN Chat is open to all, but please note that the intention of this discussion is to hold a space for people who are experiencing challenges and successes within this realm and to offer the opportunity to share these in a peer-support forum. There is no right or wrong and we would ask that anyone who joins does so with the intention of being extremely respectful with this somewhat sensitive issue. ANNUAL Solo Mums Picnic 28/6/25 – 20 years old!

ANNUAL Solo Mums Picnic 28/6/25 – 20 years old! ******** The first Solo Mums Picnic was in 2005, attended by about a dozen of us plus assorted children. In those days, there was a paddling pool and an entrance fee, now we’ve got a cocktail bar and free entry… The crowd has grown to 60+, from thinkers and tryers to pregnant women and mums with little ones, and some bigger ones too, as well as the occasional Grandma! Some have travelled as far as Ireland or Belgium, others from round the corner. Generally lucky with the weather, we try to find shade, spread out the blankets and have a great time. The playground provides for those who like to climb & swing, the lawns allow for a bit of frisbee or ball play, and for the rest of us to loll around in the sun and make connections that last for years, sharing tips and tricks and anecdotes…

Manchester / North West England - meetup

Local volunteer Dena has arranged a picnic for DCN members on Sunday, 29 June at 12pm at Didsbury Park, and would love for you to join! 📍 Meeting Point: On the grass just behind the children’s play area. Look out for a blanket and some snacks! I will have a small bunch of balloons as well, as a marker 📍 Address: Didsbury Park, Wilmslow Road, Didsbury, Manchester M20 5LS 🚗 Parking Options: Parking is free on a Sunday on the surrounding roads. I will be bringing food, but feel free to bring along whatever you’d like to eat or drink. There is an indoor cafe as well, in case it rains, a good play area, and usually an ice cream van.
