You are warmly invited to the West Midlands General Group Meet up at Parkridge visitor centre in Brueton Park:

Meet opposite Parkridge visitor centre in Brueton Park, Solihull at 1pm

If the weather is ok, meet for a picnic lunch outside (big field opposite visitor centre) & go for a walk around 2pm. Alternatively, there’s a cafe in the visitor centre.

Once meeting, there is an option to either walk around nature reserve & adventure playground, and/or walk through to Malvern park playground where there is usually a coffee van & ice cream van. Toilets & baby change are at the visitor centre.

If Brueton Park car park is busy, there are other car parks around the parks & in town centre which are 15-20mins walk. There is also a carpark in Solihull 6th form college and a walk round via the path (if you walk via fields & marsh it can be boggy!)

Mixed families

You are invited to join us for a conversation for members who are either intending or have ‘mixed’ families – our term for those with a naturally conceived child (or adopted) and a donor conceived child, to talk about shared issues. DCN Chat is a peer support online get-together. This DCN Chat will be hosted by Laura, mum to two – the oldest naturally conceived and the youngest conceive through egg donation. This is a DCN chat for single women considering or in treatment to become solo mums, considering or using double or embryo donation. This chat offers a space for discussion and peer support. This chat will be facilitated by Kerry, solo mum through double donation. All our facilitators are solo mums in the Network. Men Only Get-Together for infertile men and dads through sperm donation

Join an in-person meetup for men only, and specifically for those considering, in treatment or dad’s through sperm donation. We are running this event together NeXYs Fertility – a dedicated support platform for men dealing with fertility issues. We will have represenatatives from DCN and NeXYs and will generally be offering a friendly informal space to connect with other men who are either considering, in the process of, or dads through sperm donation. A bit more information about NeXYs: They provide peer support and expert-led insight in a space built for men, by men. Straight-talking, practical, and focused on community. Do join us for this joint event, we would love to see you there, and Chris and Marc will be there to welcome you and help everyone have a great evening!

Windsor solo mum group are inviting solo mums (and mums-to-be) from across the county, to join their next events. Miscarriage and other challenges during treatment in the donor conception journey

This DCN chat specifically for members who have experienced miscarriage following donor conception or have come up against other significant challenges which have resulted in multiple failed DC attempts. In recognition of the particularly sensitive nature of this topic, the chat/group will be facilitated by Julie, one of our DCN Professional Members, who is a counsellor experienced in working with fertility issues and donor conception. However, like other DCN chats, it is intended to offer an opportunity to share experiences, feelings and challenges with a view to creating a mutually supportive space.

Ethnicity in donor conception

This DCN chat is an opportunity to come together to talk about the issue of ethnicity in donor conception. This may be relevant if you are undertaking treatment with a donor of a different ethnicity, where ethnicity shows up in your donor decision-making process or where your child’s external appearance differs significantly to you (or you and your partner). This DCN Chat is open to all, but please note that the intention of this discussion is to hold a space for people who are experiencing challenges and successes within this realm and to offer the opportunity to share these in a peer-support forum. There is no right or wrong and we would ask that anyone who joins does so with the intention of being extremely respectful with this somewhat sensitive issue. DCN Chat is a peer support online get-together. This DCN Chat will be hosted by Mariam and/or Ruihua. All our DCN Chat facilitators are members themselves, and hosting the chat as individuals, there to contribute from their personal perspective and to ensure the group runs to its best possible potential.
