Hear from a stellar range of speakers at our 2025 virtual conference!

Our 2025 conference in April had some amazing speakers and now we are offering you the opportunity to enjoy some of the highlights from the comfort of your own home at this, our fifth virtual conference.

**Our fantastic programme includes:**

* Leo, a donor conceived young adult, and his identifiable donor Paul about meeting and their developing relationship
* Sophie, Matt, Ollie & Duncan: Four donor conceived adults sharing their experiences and answering questions
* Professor Vasanti Jadva presenting *Perspectives of parents, donors and donor conceived adolescents and adults*
* Optional: small discussion groups to allow you to connect and chat with other DC families or prospective parents

The event will be hosted by Nina, our Director. It will include a mix of live and recorded presentations, plus our wonderful panelists will be coming back to join live Q&A sessions to answer any questions you may have.

**How much does it cost?**
The online conference costs only £35 for members. If you’re not a member, we have a special ticket for you which includes 6 months’ of DCN membership and this ticket costs £70.

**When and where is the conference?**
The conference is on Saturday 21st June and is being held in the afternoon from 2pm to 5.30pm to make it more accessible to those outside the UK and those who have activities on a Saturday morning. It’ll take place online via Zoom but we know that life gets busy, especially in the summer months, so we’re also offering a one-month ‘watch again’ link if you can’t join us on the day. Please note that, to ensure the privacy of attendees, we’ll only be providing recordings of the main speaker sessions and not of any group discussions.

**Who is it for?**
It’s open to all and is appropriate whether you’re at the early stages of considering donor conception or have children already. It will also be useful for professionals working in a field connected to donor conception who would like to better understand this way of building a family.

If you are booking as a couple, please register both your names so we know who’s attending.

This DCN Chat will be hosted by Alex. *There is a separate group running for those undertaking treatment already – this group is predominently for thinking through this route to parenthood. This chat is open for those using sperm donation or considering double donation and offers a space for discussion and peer support. This chat will be facilitated by Anna. Anna is a solo mum in the Network who kindly volunteers to support others. This is not a professionally led or educational event with set objectives, rather this is a space for sharing and meeting others at the same or a similar stage of the journey. ‘Reflections’ - Parents of DC Adults

You are invited to join the group for parents of DC adults. This group will be facilitated by Jane, one of our longterm members who also works with DCN. We are inviting parents of those with children who are adults. We hope this chat can offer an attuned space to the discussions that may be more relevant to the context in which children were conceived 20+ years ago, in a different climate to that which is now prevalent, with regards to openness in particular. Anonymous donation - for those who don't have ID release or known donors

This DCN Chat is aimed at discussing anonymous donation and how that is experienced for us as donation recipients. The chat will be facilitated by Valentina, DCN member, and mum through egg donation to two children through anonymous donation. Please be aware that the Anonymous donation chat’s purpose is to understand the meaning that is given to the anonymous donation and how it is managed by those who are already parents. Prospective parents can join the call, however the main goal is to offer an opportunity to talk through the meaning that recipient parents give to the anonymous donation, rather than explore whether this is the best route for prospective parents, which would be best done in the thinker/tryer spaces. This DCN Chat is to offer a space to talk about experiences. This is not an educational event and rather, is offered as a peer-support opportunity.

Ethnicity in donor conception

This DCN chat is an opportunity to come together to talk about the issue of ethnicity in donor conception. This may be relevant if you are undertaking treatment with a donor of a different ethnicity, where ethnicity shows up in your donor decision-making process or where your child’s external appearance differs significantly to you (or you and your partner). This DCN Chat is open to all, but please note that the intention of this discussion is to hold a space for people who are experiencing challenges and successes within this realm and to offer the opportunity to share these in a peer-support forum. There is no right or wrong and we would ask that anyone who joins does so with the intention of being extremely respectful with this somewhat sensitive issue. ANNUAL Solo Mums Picnic 28/6/25 – 20 years old!

ANNUAL Solo Mums Picnic 28/6/25 – 20 years old! ******** The first Solo Mums Picnic was in 2005, attended by about a dozen of us plus assorted children. In those days, there was a paddling pool and an entrance fee, now we’ve got a cocktail bar and free entry… The crowd has grown to 60+, from thinkers and tryers to pregnant women and mums with little ones, and some bigger ones too, as well as the occasional Grandma! Some have travelled as far as Ireland or Belgium, others from round the corner. Generally lucky with the weather, we try to find shade, spread out the blankets and have a great time. The playground provides for those who like to climb & swing, the lawns allow for a bit of frisbee or ball play, and for the rest of us to loll around in the sun and make connections that last for years, sharing tips and tricks and anecdotes…
